The next Secretary of Tourism in Jalisco aims to promote the 12 Magical Towns in terms of infrastructure, promotion and services.
The next Secretary of Tourism in Jalisco aims to promote the 12 Magical Towns in terms of infrastructure, promotion and services.

Michelle Friedman, who will serve as Jalisco's Secretary of Tourism in the government of Pablo Lemus, has assured that she will promote more tourist attractions in the state.

“We want to promote our 12 Magical Towns and give them the place they deserve in terms of infrastructure, promotion, service offerings and tourism products. And there is the development of Costalegre, so that we can give a boost to the trust fund, among others.

Among the challenges facing the new secretary are increasing the number of direct flights to Guadalajara Airport and preparing Guadalajara to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup. This global sporting event offers an opportunity to position the city on the international scene, while generating a significant influx of visitors.

It is pertinent to mention that, during the period between 2018 and 2024, Fridman served as Yucatán's Secretary of Tourism Development, a position in which she won more than 80 awards, including a tourism medal awarded by the Government of France and the Canadian Tourism Commission Award.Despite the achievements in Yucatán, Fridman recognizes that the challenge in Jalisco is greater, due to the fact that the latter is a more extensive destination in terms of population and tourism offerings.
